Editorial: Lapsing into Metaphor, by Rebecca A. Bartlett. Bartlett pays tribute to Choice's review support staff.

Health Information on the Internet: Seeking the Gold Standard, by Charles L. Brown, university librarian at Sullivan University; Belinda Yff, senior librarian at Sullivan University; and Charles S. Brown, medical student at the University of Louisville.

According to recent research, health-related searches on the Internet make up nearly half of personal and family information needs. Brown, Yff, and Brown use a gold standard assessment algorithm to sift out superior health-related sites. They discuss a range of sites suitable for three audiences: students in medical, nursing, and allied health fields; health care professionals; and health-services consumers. The authors evaluate some 100 resources.
