Editorial: Sabbatical Musings, by Irving E. Rockwood. Mr. Rockwood reveals his anxieties about his four-month absence from the Choice office.

    American Literary Biography: History of the Genre, 1950-2000, by Carl Rollyson, a biographer and professor of journalism at Baruch College, The City University of New York.

Literary biography came of age in America after the Second World War, exceeding the output of every other period in America's literary history. Rollyson surveys the literature by decade, beginning with the "Edel/Ellmann Age." He evaluates over ninety works.

   Forthcoming Performing Arts & Mass Media Titles, 2009. This feature highlights forthcoming titles scheduled for publication from summer 2009 onward. Each of the 200-plus titles on the list was suggested by the publisher and then selected by Choice for its relevance to undergraduate curricula.
